Palitan follows a highly dysfunctional couple, Jen (Cara Gonzales) and James (Luis Hontiveros), who travel to Jen's provincial hometown to escape the suffocating anxiety of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. While there, they reunite with Marie (Jela Cuenca)—Jen’s former best friend and secret past lover—and Marie's fiancé, Al (Rash Flores).
The story follows (Cara Gonzales), an openly bisexual woman, and her partner James (Luis Hontiveros), who struggles with mental health issues. Seeking an escape from the stress and isolation of the pandemic, the couple visits Jen's hometown. There, they reconnect with Jen's former lover and best friend, Marie (Jela Cuenca), who is now engaged to their mutual friend Al (Rash Flores).
