Spending all of one's energy, time, and thought pursuing money, treating it as the ultimate provider and protector. and thought pursuing money

Genuine love for Allah transforms a person's entire value system. They come to love the people, actions, and qualities that Allah loves, and to dislike or distance themselves from what Allah dislikes. This is the doctrine of al-walā' wal-barā' —loyalty to what pleases Allah and disassociation from what displeases Him. This does not mean harboring personal animosity toward others, but rather aligning one's affections and choices with the divine standard of good and evil.

"And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah. And if those who have wronged could only see [now] when they will see the punishment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment."
