In her search for her missing father, Na-young travels to her parents' remote home village. There, she is mysteriously transported back in time to the 1960s. She encounters her mother as a young woman (also played by Jeon Do-yeon), a pure-hearted (traditional female diver). Through this journey, Na-young witnesses the tender and innocent romance between her young mother and the village postman, who is her future father. Seeing their struggles and the sacrifices her mother made to support her family changes Na-young's perspective on her parents forever.
The film follows a teenager, Pierre (Louis Garrel), who is brought into a world of hedonism and shocking behavior by his mother, Hélène (Isabelle Huppert).
